I love Halloween so much! We’ve been busy moving, so I haven’t had as much time as I would like to post about my favorite Halloween activities, however, I do have a few planned for the rest of October, so make sure to follow me on Facebook and Pinterest to get all of them.
Since October has just started, I want to share with you my Halloween movie list for 2020. It’s broken down by age, but I enjoy many of these movies, even the ones that are intended for littles. Please use your own judgment to decide which of these movies will be appropriate for you and your children.

While I was looking this year, I found a few that I was not formerly aware of. I grew up on Halloween moves and have been watching them ever since. Back when having all of your favorite movies on DVD was a thing, I had a large portion of my DVD collection dedicated specifically to Halloween movies.

I’m not a Halloween movie expert, but favorite Halloween scenes include the Fezzik/Dread Pirate Roberts invisibility cloak in Princess Bride, E.T. trick or treating and that scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark where the Nazi’s head shrivels up. Seriously. The most perfect Halloween movies, IMHO, are It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (I think they invented the genre) and A Nightmare Before Christmas whose Danny Elfman score, decades later leaves me with ear worms for weeks.
Wow! now I can have the Halloween experience and stay safe with my kids!
Anything by Tim Burton is a good Halloween movie. I like Frankenweenie, Nightmare Before Christmas and Edward Scissorhands are favorites. Hocus Pocus is the quintessential Halloween movie and is a must for me every year. I even found a book at Target one year and had to give it to a cousin because she loves the Sanderson Sisters.
I love Halloween! And I love a good, scary movie. Most of the movies I grew up on for Halloween were the old classic black and white movies that would play on some classics channel at my grandma’s house, and I still love watching them.
Reading is also a passion of mine, so I pick a good book for October as well. Here are some I’ve enjoyed:
